LWSD Ep. 89 - Twinkie's Apostasy: The Apostolic Tell-All You Never Knew

LWSD Ep. 89, "Twinkie's Apostasy: The Apostolic Tell-All You Never Knew" is now available wherever you get your podcasts (click here for show notes and links to listen on podcast apps). This especially cathartic installment was also captured on video, which you can see on our YouTube channel.

Twinkie takes us along for his harrowing, dark-night-of-the-soul drive back to Ohio from seeing Willie Nelson play Red Rocks in 1999—when he first made the decision to begin his repentance and become a member of the Apostolic Christian Church—all the way through his baptism and traumatic renunciation of that religious tradition in 2004.

Palmer and I are also joined by Cabin Kid Steiner who grew up in the Apostolic Church alongside Twinkie but stopped attending as soon as he was old enough to do so.

This episode focuses on their experiences, and they share with a humbling honesty and vulnerability that is super-brave if you ask me. It’s easily one of the best things we’ve ever done with the show.
